KABUL: (MEP) At least one employee of the Ministry of Education was killed and six others wounded in an explosion in capital Kabul on Monday, officials said.

Feraidon Obaidi, head of criminal investigations at Kabul police chief told Middle East Press, the incident occurred at around 8:20am in Kamari area of Bagrami district.

�The attack took place after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detonated near the Ministry�s employees� vehicle� Obaidi added.

Those injured in the blast have taken to a hospital, the source said, adding that further investigations are underway.

No immediate claim of responsibility was made for the attack.
