Turkey condoles Iran on national's death in Istanbul terror attack

TEHRAN (Tasnim) Turkeys president offered his condolences on the death of an Iranian tourist in a Saturday suicide bomb blast in Istanbul, and assured his Iranian counterpart that Ankara is resolved to cooperate with Tehran in the fight against terrorism.





"I have been sorrowed by the fact that one Iranian lost his life and three Iranians were wounded in the terror attack in Istanbul," Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a letter he sent to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday, Daily Sabah reported.

"This heinous attack targeting innocent civilians has once again revealed the fact that the international community has to unite to defeat terror. I would like to inform you that we are going to continue our fight against terror and Turkey is ready to cooperate with Iran against terror," the Turkish leader added.

"On behalf of the Turkish nation, I pray Allah grant the victim compassion, his family all welfare. I also wish the three Iranians a quick recovery. In the person of His Excellency, I extend my deepest condolences to all of the Iranian nation," Erdogan noted.







A group of Iranian tourists were among victims of the Saturday suicide bomb attack in Istanbuls Istiklal Street, a popular destination for tourists and locals in a central neighborhood that is home to cafes, restaurants, foreign consulates and a government offices.

Alireza Razmkhah, 45, was killed, while his wife and baby were wounded. An elderly woman was also wounded in the attack, but was in stable condition.

Reports said on Sunday that Mehmet Ozturk, a Turkish member of Daesh (ISIL) terrorist, has carried out the bloody terrorist attack.
