Tehran, March 15, IRNA Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi said on Tuesday that Iran and Vietnam will launch cooperation in ten sectors of information technology (IT) and communications.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a meeting with the Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son, said that the Iranian and Vietnamese presidents in a meeting underlined cooperation in Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) and space technology.
Vaezi further noted that his meeting with Vietnamese minister took place following the agreement reached by the two presidents.
Cooperation in software, policymaking and electronic government are among the areas of cooperation, the Iranian minister said, noting that Internet, cyber security and e-commerce are among the other sectors the two countries will cooperate.
As to joint venture investments, Vaezi said that a workshop has been set up to pursue the implementation of the agreements reached by the two countries.
Nguyen Bac Son, for his part, described the two countries; potentials for cooperation as very high, saying that cooperation in the economic and ICT sectors will improve.
He further noted that the two countries can have good cooperation in the telecommunications, Internet and IT.
The Vietnamese minister hoped that following the two presidents' meeting, the Vietnamese investors will be interested to invest in Iran and Iranian investors will travel to Vietnam to undertake joint ventures.
Accompanied by a commercial delegation, Vietnamese president arrived in Iran on March 13 and held talks with his Iranian president and other senior officials.
