TEHRAN (Tasnim) � Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday warned of plots hatched by the hegemonic system, the US in particular, to undermine Iran�s Islamic Revolution using indirect ways.

The enemies are sometimes explicitly opposed to the Islamic Revolution in principle, Ayatollah Khamenei said in a meeting with a group of seminary students and clerics here in Tehran.

However, the Leader added, enemies sometimes indirectly oppose the doctrinal principles and basics of the Islamic Revolution.

Imam Khamenei further called for sensitivity to such cases, saying, �This is why the necessity for vigilance against the (Global) Arrogance and the US is repeatedly emphasized.�

The Leader referred to Iran�s resistance to global cruel system as the main reason behind the hegemonic powers� opposition to the Islamic Republic.

�If it is not for this resistance, whichever name and whatever form you have, the hegemony will not be opposed to you,� Ayatollah Khamenei went on to say.

The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime on February 11, 1979, and established the Islamic Republic, ending the 2,500 years of monarchy in the country.

Every year on February 11, millions of Iranian people of different social strata, carrying flags and banners in support of the Islamic Republic, pour into the streets in nationwide mass rallies to commemorate the anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
