Wellington, IRNA, March 14 � Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif conferred with New Zealand Primary Industries Minister Nathan Gay on Monday.


The two officials discussed ways of boosting bilateral ties.

During the meeting, Zarif referred to the integrity of Iran's market with central Asia and Caucasisn markets and called for New Zealand investment in Iran in agriculture, animal husbandry and fishery.

New Zealand primary industry minister for his part called for increase of bilateral ties in particular in the field of primary industries.

The official called Iran a stable country in the volatile Middle East region.

Zarif arrived in New Zealand capital, Wellington early Saturday as the fifth leg of his Asia-Pacific tour. He wrapped up his official two-day trip to Thailand and set off for New Zealand Friday evening.

The Iranian minister started his six-nation tour last Sunday and has visited Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei and Thailand. He is scheduled to visit Australia on the last leg of his tour.

On February 19, New Zealand lifted its sanctions against Iran following the implementation of Tehran's nuclear agreement with world powers, dubbed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
