Vienna, March 1, IRNA Deputy Foreign Minister for Euro-American Affairs Majid Takht-e-Ravanchi said on Tuesday that a new chapter opened to bolster ties between Tehran and Vienna.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz.
The two officials explored the grounds for cooperation in different fields.
Deputy Foreign Minister Michael Linhart and Chief of Staff of Austrian Presidential Office Helmut Freudenschuss were present in the meeting.
Both Iranian and Austrian officials expressed pleasure with the excellent relations between the two countries.
The reviewed bilateral ties on politico-economic, parliamentary, trade, culture and consular areas.
The two sides called for regular consultations to be held between Iran and Austria especially on the regional and international issues.
Concerning cease-fire in Syria, Takht-e-Ravanchi warned against the crimes against humanity and the war crimes being perpetrated systematically by the terrorist groups in Syria, especially ISIL, al-Qaeda and al-Nusra Front.
He said that the terrorist groups must not be given opportunity to misuse the truce.
