UNESCO official seeks to connect Qeshm geo-park to Portugal

Qeshm, Hormuzgan prov, Feb 29, IRNA A leading member of the organization in charge of world geo-parks affiliated to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) said he seeks to connect the unique geo-park in Qeshm with those existing in Portugal.

Talking to IRNA here on Monday, Jose Brilha said this will make easier for world tourists to get familiar with the real life going on in Iran.

He went on to say that during his current visit to the Persian Gulf Island, he just found out that the reality of life in Iran was totally different from the western propaganda.

He said the arrival of foreign tourists will help change the mentality of foreigners towards Iran.

He referred to the salt cave in the Qeshm Island as the longest one in the world which is superior to all other counterparts in the world.

The official said the Island just had to make necessary adaptations with universal standards to re-join the world organization of geo-parks.
