Rouhani: Financial, arms routes of terrorists should be cut off

Tehran, Feb 27, IRNA - President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday that as the first step in fight with terrorists, their financial and arms supplies should be cut off.


President Rouhani made the remarks in a meeting with Swiss President Johann Schneider-Ammann and his accompanying delegation in Tehran.
All countries should help boost stability and security in the Middle East region, said President Rouhani.

Relations between Iran and Switzerland dated back to some 140 years ago, he said.

Following implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and lifting of economic sanctions, the grounds are now well-prepared for expansion of all-out relation and cooperation between the two countries.

Iran welcomes expansion of comprehensive relations with Switzerland, President Rouhani said.

During nuclear talks between Iran and G5+1, Switzerland played a very good and constructive role in resolving the dispute, he said.
Grounds are new well prepared for Iran to join World Trade Organization as the country can play leading and constructive role to this end, President Rouhani said.

The two sides should spare no efforts to broaden economic cooperation, he said.

Expansion of banking and insurance services will lead to enhance level of trade between Iran and Switzerland, President Rouhani said.
Iran and Switzerland have had close contribution in pharmaceutical drugs and such trend should be continued, he said.

On regional developments, President Rouhani said terrorists receive high sophisticated weapons and pump and sell oil from the occupied lands to other countries, he said.

All should help the youth in European countries not to be attracted by terrorists, President Rouhani said.

There is no doubt that terrorists are now regarded as the biggest threat for the countries in the region as well as in the Europe, he said.
All countries in the world should help stop terrorists in the world, he said.
Iran and Switzerland should mull rendering of humanitarian relief aid to refugess and displaced people, he said.

He expressed the hope that the visit of Swiss president to Tehran to be regarded as initiation of new move in broadening mutual and regional cooperation.

Swiss President Johann Schneider-Ammann, for his part expressed pleasure with his visit to Iran and called for expansion of all-out relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Iran with very rich culture and civilization have very close cooperation with Switzerland which is hub of new science, he said.
He called for expansion of cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran on science, technology, industries, tourism and academies.

Switzerland and Iran can help find a way out of current crises in the region, said Swiss president.

He welcomed Iran's membership to the WTO and said Switzerland will back the membership as Iran's presence will bring economic dynamism to WTO.
