Tehran, February 27, The Iran Project � Head of Tehran�s Provincial Election Headquarters�announced that initial reports indicate the 30% growth of people's participation in Tehran Friday's election.

Speaking to a reporter on Saturday, Seyed Shahabodin Chavoushi, Head of Tehran�s Provincial Election Headquarters noted the massive participation of people in parliamentary and assembly elections in Tehran, saying that compared with the last parliamentary election, the figures show that Tehran people's vote in Friday's poll has increased by 30%.

Chavoushi also went on to say the process of counting votes of Expert Assembly election has been begun under the supervision of Tehran's Governorate General and the conclusion is expected to be announced until tonight.

Highlighting the major turnout in the parliamentary election across Tehran province, Chavoushi predicted that counting legislative election vote will probably take a few days.

The governorate official expressed gratitude to the bodies that contributed to organize the election, elsewhere in his remarks.

35 seats out of 290 seats of�Islamic Consultative Assembly belongs to Tehran province in which 2,477 candidates�initially have�signed up to compete.
