TEHRAN, Feb. 06 (Shana) -- The chief motive for last week's visit of German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier to Tehran was to ensure his country's energy security in the future years, an expert said.
Many experts say establishing economic security including energy security tops Germany's foreign policy agenda, observers say.
Ali Reza Mir Yousefi, head of the Middle East Studies Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, says Steinmeier's visit to Tehran and Riyadh comes with Germany's strong desire for ensuring energy supply from the Middle East in the coming years and decades.
He told Shana that German foreign policy is directed towards generation of wealth and economic stability for the country as top priorities and last week's visit by the German foreign minister was made in this regard.
