Tehran, Feb 6, IRNA President Hassan Rouhani left Tehran for the holy city of Mashad in northeast of country on Saturday morning.
He is accompanied by a number of his cabinet members in the visit which is taking place on the occasion of the ten-day celebrations held nationwide to mark the victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in the country in 1979.
The President will open a number of projects there including the first phase of Mashad metro line which will help reduce pollution in the city.
He will also open Tehran-Mashad railway electrification system.
The project will be completed in 42 months using an estimated 2 billion dollars.
A number of other production and industrial units will also be inaugurated during the trip.
