Tehran, Feb 1, IRNA Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that Iran welcomes every initiative by Lebanese political currents for presidential election through agreement and consensus of all political forces.
According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department on Monday, Amir Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade Alain Hakim.
In the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to expand bilateral relations and the latest development in the region, especially development in Lebanon.
By explaining the latest development in Iran's relations with countries of the region, Amir Abdollahian said that Iran has special intention to solve problems of the regional countries, including Syria and Lebanon, and in this direction underlined necessity of cooperation between countries.
He underlined Iran's support for the expansion of all-out ties with Lebanon.
Alain Hakim, who is in Tehran to attend the 7th joint economic commission between Iran and Lebanon, felicitated striking nuclear deal between Iran and the world powers as well as the removal of all sanctions.
He also underlined the necessity of promotion of economic relations between the two states and expressed hope that by holding the 7th joint economic commission meeting, the two countries will enter a new phase of relations.
