Quranic colleges to be established in Germany, Belgium

Tehran, Jan 27, IRNA An official with Irans Quranic Sciences and Teachings University said required permissions to set up a Quranic college in Germany have been issued.


Hojj. Seyed Mohammad Naqib, a deputy of the university, said there have also been calls from Belgium for establishment of a Quranic college in the European country, ISNA reported.
Germany and Belgium both have a large Muslim minority population.
He added that 5000 students are currently studying at the University of Quranic Sciences and Teachings in Iran.
The university has 22 colleges in cities across the country and there are requests from 12 more cities for establishment of Quranic colleges, he went on to say.
The University of Quranic Sciences and Teachings was founded in 2008 with the aim of promoting the teachings and culture of the Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and training experts in Quranic sciences.
