TEHRAN, Jan. 26 (Shana) Operator of phase developments 17 and 18 of the massive South Pars gas field in Persian Gulf waters said the phases produce 30 million cubic meters of natural gas on a daily basis.
Hassan Boveiri said the offshore section of the phases will finalize before the end of next winter, adding that the phases will reach their rated production capacity of 50mcm/d in less than 6 months.
As he said, the two phases have so far produced 4 bcm of gas while producing a million barrels of gas condensate per day. Besides, 60,000 tons of ethane has been recovered from the phases, he added.
Phases 17&18 are prioritized by the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum and their first gas sweetening train cam on-stream in 2014 and 3 other trains have so far come online.
The phase developments are 92% complete, said Boveiri, and an amount equal to 6.2 billion dollars has so far been invested for their developments.
Refineries of the phases are also 96% complete which will be able to process 56mcm/d of gas.
