A top adviser to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei will pay an official four-day visit to Moscow next week to hold talks with senior Russian officials.
Ali Akbar Velayati, the adviser to the Leader on international affairs, will kick off his trip next Monday, February 1, and plans to discuss the latest mutual and regional developments with the Kremlin officials.
He will also address a press conference.
Velayati paid a visit to Moscow in January, 2015 as a special envoy for Iran's President Hassan Rouhani and submitted the Iranian presidents message to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
During Velayatis meeting with Putin, the two sides agreed on efforts for the promotion of Irans observer status at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). They also discussed bilateral relations in political and economic fields.
Iran and Russia have both thrown their support behind Syrian president Bashar al-Assad in Damascus war with the foreign-backed militants. Moscow and Tehran reject any foreign interference in the war-hit countrys affairs saying the Syrians have to decide about their fate.
