Tehran, Jan 24, IRNA - Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said here on Sunday that Iran is fully ready to expand all-out relations with Thailand.
Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with his Thai counterpart Don Pramudwinai.
'Iranian market could play a pivotal role in several arenas with Thai partners,' Zarif added.
During the visit, the ways for fostering mutual political and economic cooperation were discussed.
Touching upon Iran-Thailand ancient relations, Zarif reiterated that Tehran is fully ready to expand its mutual cooperation with Bangkok.
Reminding Iran-Thailand cooperation in international and regional levels, he said Tehran is fully ready to cooperate in the fields of sustainable development aimed at fostering peace, stability, counter-terrorism efforts and terrorism.
Pramudwinai, for his part, described the achievements of Thailand-Iran joint economic commission for fostering mutual cooperation as fruitful.
He also expressed that mutual cooperation could be expanded in all arenas.
Pramudwinai, heading a delegation, arrived in Tehran on Sunday morning.
A delegation consisting of 50 people including merchants and Thai companies' officials are accompanying the Foreign Minister.
Currently, Iran owns only a $99m-share of Thailand's $200b market.
In the wake of lifting anti-Iran sanctions, Iranian merchants have an eye on Thailand's markets to export their products.
Iranian companies also tend to participate in Thailand's infrastructural plans.
