Islamabad, Jan 19, IRNA Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif will arrive in Iran from Saudi Arabian, within hours on Tuesday.
Nawaz Sharif left Islamabad for Riyadh on Monday on a two-leg tour which will bring him to Tehran today.
The visits aim at mediating between Iran and Saudi Arabia over the recent political crisis occurred between the two countries
The Pakistani prime minister and chief of Army Staff have met with the Saudi King Salman in Riyadh.
While in Tehran, Nawaz Sharif is slated to meet with President Hassan Rouhani and officially invite him to pay a visit to Pakistan in the near future.
Sharif will be accompanied by a high-ranking delegation including Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi.
Reports said that Pakistani officials have planned to mediate decrease of tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia severed diplomatic relations with Iran on January 3 following Tehran's condemnation of the kingdom's execution of prominent Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.
Russia as well as several European and regional countries have expressed readiness to mediate between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Iran says it will not allow Saudi Arabias provocations to adversely affect ongoing efforts aimed at resolving the crisis in Syria and Yemen.
