MOSCOW (Sputnik) Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone talk withItalian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, discussing current tensions betweenSaudi Arabia and Iran, aswell assteps tocoordinate the fight againstinternational terrorism, the Kremlin press service said Friday.
"During an exchange ofviews ontopical issues onthe international agenda, the main focus was onSyrian conflict settlement, aswell asthe situation unfolding betweenIran and Saudi Arabia. In this context, the importance ofclosely coordinating efforts inthe fight againstinternational terrorism was noted," the press service said ina statement.
Moreover,Vladimir Putinand Matteo Renzi noted the importance ofcontinuing cooperation onmutually beneficial energy projects.
"A number ofissues regarding Russian-Italian cooperation was constructively, thoroughly discussed. Both sides reaffirmed the importance ofcontinuing cooperation toimplement mutually beneficial energy projects," the press service said ina statement.
