Tehran, Dec 25, IRNA Tehran's Friday Prayers substitute Leader Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said that Guardian Council will observe law, tranquility and freedom in the upcoming elections.
Referring to the Majlis (parliament) and Assembly of Experts elections, the ayatollah said in his second sermon here on Friday that election is honor of Islam, Muslim and the regime, so it should be held widely, securely and differences should not have any affect on election.
Jannati felicitated birthday of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and occasion of 'Unity Week' and also felicitated birthday of Jesus Christ (PBUH) and expressed hope that his followers act upon his teachings of kindness and compassion.
He added that Islamic world, with a population of 1.5 billion, has a strange situation. On the one hand Muslims are living in strategic areas and have huge natural resources, but taking advantage of these resources needs unity among Muslims.
Concerning domestic solidarity in Iran, the ayatollah said there is no dispute between Shia and Sunni sects in Iran and added that consolidation should be maintained and political fractions should not be a cause of separation.
