Board of governors' resolution paving way for JCPOA completion

Vienna, Dec 15, IRNA Iranian ambassador to the UN nuclear watchdog said here on Tuesday IAEA's board of governors' today resolution to close possible military dimensions (PMD) file will accelerate the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

'The board of governors' decision to end the past and present day activities file and annul all previous UN resolutions on the Iranian nuclear program opens a new chapter of cooperation between Iran and the agency,' he said.

Najafi, meanwhile, asked the Group 5+1 governments to heed the realities reiterated in the IAEA report and the proposed draft resolution and to ratify the end of the issue in their respective countries, as well.

The Iranian envoy had earlier during the board of governors' session to vote for the six countries' resolution on the Iranian nuclear file said that the JCPOA signed between Iran and the world powers was an important step aimed at resolving a crisis which was unnecessarily prolonged.

Also after the ratification of the historical resolution, in response to a question on the Zionist regime of Israel's phony and repetitious claims against the Iranian peaceful nuclear program, Najafi said that those claims are aimed at concealing the horrendous dimensions of Tel Aviv's own military nuclear arsenal.

'That regime has ever since its establishment in the region lacked legitimacy and after the implementation of the JCPOA it will become more segregated than before,' he said.
