Tehran, December 15, The Iran Project- Two days after the brutal crackdown of almost a thousand of Nigerian Shia Muslims and detention of Shia leader by the Nigeria military forces, the condemnations of the atrocity by Iran and Muslim world continue.

Top Shia clerics in Iran and Iraq released separate statements, urging the immediate release of the prominent Shia Nigerian cleric Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky.

Iran's Grand Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpaygani and Ayatollah Hossein Nouri Hamedani strongly denounced the recent violence, demanding justice for the arbitrary conduct of the Nigerian military forces.

Key Shia figures in Iraq, including Ammar al-Hakim and Muqtada al-Sadr also slammed the massive killing of Shia Muslims and Zakzaky�s detention, calling it irresponsible practices against Shia Muslims.

Shia top clerics have unanimously demanded the Nigeria government to focus efforts on the fight against the Takfiri terrorist groups, including the Boko Haram.

Along with the reactions in Muslim�s world, hundreds of people staged a rally in London to condemn the Nigeria government massacre of Shia Muslims. The protesters converged outside the High Commission of Nigeria in London and demanded that the perpetrators of such crimes be brought to justice.

Earlier, deputy head of Supreme Leader's Office for International Affairs Hojjatoleslam Mohsen Qomi highlighted the Israeli regime�s involvement in this suspicious episode.

Iran�s Foreign Minister also urges Nigeria to protect Muslim lives, demanding Abuja to take a �prompt and serious" action for ending violence against Muslims.

In the capital Tehran, Foreign Ministry summoned Nigerian Charge d�Affaires to protest to invasion of a Shia religious site in the city of Zaria by Nigerian army, which left scores of people dead and wounded.

The reactions came after Nigerian forces raided the house of Sheikh Zakzaky, the Shia prominent leader, and arrested him after reportedly killing the individuals attempting to form a human shield to protect him.

One of the movement�s senior leaders, the spokesman and Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky�s son are among those who lost their lives during the imbroglio. The wife of the leader of Nigeria's main Shia Muslim sect is alive, while earlier she was pronounced dead.

Following the allegations that members of the Shia movement had attempted to assassinate Nigeria's army chief, Nigerian military forces surrounded the house of the religious leader in the northern city of Zaria on Saturday night. Heavy fighting broke out afterwards between the government forces and members of the Islamic Movement, which stretched into the early hours of Sunday.
