Tehran, Dec 13, IRNA � Vice president and head of the Department of Environment said Tehran expects that condition of the countries seriously inflicted by climate change such as Iran and those hit by war and unrest in the region is considered in the UN climate summit in Paris.


Masoumeh Ebtekar made the remarks on Saturday afternoon in a telephone talk with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius hours before the COP21 meeting which reached a historic agreement to limit increase of global temperature by reducing carbon emissions, according to the department's website.


Iran hopes that considerations of the developing countries have been observed, she told Fabius hoping that the agreement which was discussed for two weeks would save the world from the 2-degree temperature increase and its irrevocable negative effects.

Also referring to Iran active participation in the prolonged negotiations in Paris and its constructive suggestions, Ebtekar said the agreement is expected to be just and comprehensive.

'Participation of more than 180 countries in (drafting) the agreement was significant,' the vice president added, 'It is the biggest global agreement and an eye-catching victory for multilateralism and moderation over unilateralism and extremism.'

The French foreign minister who chaired the COP21 voting session thanked Iran for its support and active participation in the summit.
