Amir Abdollahian: Vienna talks on Syria constructive

Tehran, Dec 7, IRNA Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian underlined the talks on Syria which are being held in Vienna are regarded as positive steps in resolving the Syrian crisis.


'These efforts can be effective when the realities of Syria and the region are taken into consideration and lead to simultaneous reinforcement of fight against terrorism and progress in the political trend,' Amir Abdollahian said explaining the outcome of the Vienna I and II talks on Syria during a meeting with ambassadors and heads of foreign diplomatic missions in Tehran on Monday.

'We welcome any positive move that is aimed at helping to resolve the Syrian crisis in line with respecting the sovereignty and people's votes,' he added.

Amir Abdollahian said that any decision on Syria should be within the framework of Syrian people's demands and the United Nations as well as in coordination with the Syrian government and within the international laws.
