TEHRAN, Dec. 05 (MNA) � According to a new report from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Iran ranked 91 in 2015 for internet speed while South Korea is the country with the best internet in the world.

A new report from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has revealed which countries lead the way in terms of internet speeds, and which ones are stuck in the slow lane. South Korea with IDI 2015 rating of 8.93 is sitting at the top, followed by Denmark with IDI rating of 8.88, Iceland with IDI rating of 8.86, and United Kingdom with IDI rating of 8.75.�The United States sits in the 15th place with IDI rating of 8.19.

At the bottom of the list in the 167th place�is the African country Chad with IDI rating of 1.17, topped by Eritrea, Ethiopia, Madagascar and Malawi.

Iran holds the 91th ranking with IDI rating of 4.79, which shows considerable improvement compared to its IDI 2010 rating of 3.48 which had placed the country in the 99th place.

The report works out a special ICT Development Index, based around internet speed, the number of fixed internet subscriptions, and the percentage of households with a computer.

According to ITU, the ICT status and internet quality in the world is improving as there are more countries in the 8-9 IDI range than before.
