Assad: Syrian victories indebted to support of friendly nations

Damascus, Nov. 29, IRNA Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said on Sunday that the Syrian people and army in their stiff struggle with terrorism are indebted to the support of the friendly nations mainly the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia.

Syrian president said in a meeting with Ali Akbar Velayati, Senior Advisor to the Supreme Leader in Damascus.
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minster Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Iran's Ambassador to Damascus Mohammad Reza Sheibani and senior Syrian officials were present in the meeting.

Enemies of Syria who claimed to be harbinger of fight with terrorism have supported terrorist groups and provided them with financial and military support, the Syrian president said.

Syria and its friends are determined to fight and eradicate terrorist groups and believe that destruction of terrorists will be regarded as a main stride to restore regional and global stability, the Syrian President said.

Syria calls for the crisis to be resolved through political means and to attain the goal the terrorists should be fully destroyed, the Syrian president said.

In the meeting, the two sides also discussed expansion of mutual cooperation along with regional and global developments.
