Tehran, Nov 29, IRNA Head of Irans Environmental Protection Organization (IEPO) Masoumeh Ebtekar left for the French capital of Paris on Sunday to attend the COP21, also known as the 2015 Paris Climate Conference.
Ebtekar, also a vice president, has made the trip to Paris at the invitation of French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, who is the president of the COP21.
The Iranian official is going to hold meetings with a number of attendees on the sidelines of the gathering.
Ebtekar will discuss Iran's national program regarding the climate change and protection of the environment as well as Iran's share in reducing greenhouse gases.
She is expected to return home on Monday night but Iran's expert team will stay there to continue consultations with its counterparts.
France would be hosting the UN Climate Change Conference (COP21) from November 30 to December 11.
COP21, which invites ministers of 50 countries, will be a crucial conference, as it needs to achieve a new international agreement on climate, applicable to all countries, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2C.
