Tehran, Nov 21, IRNA - Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Saturday that the two resolutions, issued by the UN General Assembly (UNGA) on the status of human rights should be regarded as ironic.
The two resolutions issued at the third committee of the UNGA on human rights issues was one of the bitter irony of the contemporary era, he said.
Speaking on the occasion of the 70 anniversary establishment of the United Nations, he said countries which lack constitution and even elections, talk about free elections in Syria, Zarif criticized.
Those who have financed the existance of 'Daesh Takfiri' terrorist groups find fault with those who are now struggling with the group and unfortunately due to some considerations, they receive the required votes, he said.
These concerns should be taken into consideration in dealing with the United Nations, he said.
The 70th anniversary of establishment of the United Nations should give enough chance to review success and defeats on an international level to help uphold the status of human rights in order to prevent escalation of conflicts, he said.
Everyone should take into account the shortcomings of the United Nations such as politicization of affairs, he said.
