Tehran, Nov 7, IRNA � Majlis (Parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani met and conferred here Saturday with President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz on ways to strengthen bilateral ties.

After the meeting, Larijani and Schulz are to attend a joint press conference where domestic and foreign media are present.

During his day-long visit to Tehran, Schulz is to hold talks with President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Schulz is also expected to meet with Secretary of Iran's Human Rights Council Mohammad Javad Larijani and Head of Iran's Majlis Research Center Kazem Jalali.

Schulz's visit to Tehran is the first after the July 14 landmark nuclear agreement between Iran and the six world powers.

President of the European Parliament arrived in the Iranian capital this morning.
