Tehran, Nov 4, IRNA � Head of the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council Ali-Akbar Velayati said on Wednesday that Iran is not cooperating with the US either directly or indirectly under any pretext or anywhere, and neither will it have such cooperation in the future.

Speaking to Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal al-Miqdad on Wednesday, Velayati said Iran is not cooperating with the US troops either politically or otherwise and will not have any cooperation in the future either.

Asked what Iran did mean by transitional government in the Syria talks, Velayati said the Islamic Republic of Iran does not suggest any solution that may not be acceptable to the Syrian government and nation. 'So, any solution relating to Syria should be absolutely the one reached in consultation and in agreement between Iran and the Syrian government.'

'If the Islamic Republic of Iran was to do something without consultation with the Syrian government, it would not have got involved in the issue since about five years ago and it would not have helped the Syrian government.'

What we meant was that others, who have no right in Syria , should not decide on behalf of the people of Syria, said Velayati, adding, 'We will not definitely do something for which we blame others; so, no plan or solution on part of the Islamic Republic of Iran will be put forward without consultation and coordination with the Syrian government and nation.'
