TEHRAN, Oct. 28 (Shana) Iran has attained at research scale the first locally-made cracking technology to process petroleum coke in the oil refinery coker units, said an official in the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI).
Based on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between RIPIs Downstream Campus and the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), it was agreed to launch the project locally, said Mohmmad Hojabr Mahdavi, head of engineering and technical services in RIPI.
The larger-scale petcoke processing technology will be employed in the oil industry, added Mahdavi whose research unit has been assigned with the project.
