Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said that Iran's former ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi is still unaccounted for but that he hopes the former diplomat returns to his family soon.
Speaking at a funeral procession Tuesday for Ahmad Fahima, an Iranian Foreign Ministry official who was killed in the Mina stampede in Saudi Arabia, the top diplomat said that he thinks the Saudi government and Hajj officials would not act responsibly in dealing with the aftermath of the deadly crush. They failed to take the necessary measures to save the pilgrims and handle the case of those who were trampled to death in the stampede, Zarif said.
