Zarif meets Japanese counterpart in Tehran
Tehran, Oct 12, IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with his visiting Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida here on Monday.

Kishida's visit to Tehran is his second in two years aiming to pave the way for travel of the senior Japanese officials to Iran.

The 23-member Japanese delegation led by Kishida is to hold talks with the Iranian officials on the future of Tehran-Tokyo relations.

The two are to plan for future bilateral economic cooperation in the post-sanctions era.

Iran and Japan are on the verge of inking an agreement on investment, according to which the Japanese companies are to cooperate with Iran in development of oil fields and trade activities.

After the July 14 nuclear deal between Iran and the six world powers, different world countries extended their economic and political representatives to Tehran to grow ties with the country.

Japan's Kishida arrived in Tehran on Monday.

On July 14, Iran and world's six major powers known as the Group 5+1 (the US, Britain, France, Russia and China plus Germany) concluded over a decade-long negotiations on Tehrans nuclear activities which led to the signing of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
