"Regarding the fact that refineries in Poland have been upgraded, they can be fed by crude oil from Iran, and Tehran has offered to sell its oil to the European country," Zangeneh told reporters on the sidelines of a Saturday meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister of Poland Janusz Piechoci?ski here in Tehran.
He said LNG cooperation, petrochemical industry, underground gas storage and optimization of energy consumption were other highlights of the meeting.
"Polish terminals are fine-tuned to receive LNG cargoes, and Iranian LNG consignments will hit Polish terminals once the country's LNG projects come on-stream," said the Iranian official.
Trade balance between Tehran and Warsaw stood at 500 million dollars in 2013.
Experts believe it can be doubled through increased trade in oil, gas, mining, machinery, agricultural products, petrochemical products, car manufacturing, spare parts, train compartments and engines, and medical and pharmaceutical goods.
As another highlight of the meeting, petrochemical cooperation was also discussed and "the Poles will hold talks with Iran's petrochemical officials in this regard," said Zangeneh.
He said the meeting was chiefly allocated to general topics and companies from the two countries may engage in intensive talks in their relevant areas in the future.
Last April, during the visit of Polish deputy foreign minister, the Petroleum Ministry said it discussed selling Iranian crude oil to refineries in the European country and cooperation in the field of petrochemical industry.
In the wake of nuclear deal, Iran has hosted high-ranking officials and corporate executives of major companies from Germany, Spain, Austria, Italy, and France to discuss new cooperation ventures.
