Tehran, Sept 21, IRNA � President Hassan Rouhani praised the war-disabled veterans as tokens of the firm will, resistance and dignity of the nation.

He made the remarks in his opening address to the 2nd national gathering of war veterans with +70 percent disabilities here on Monday.

The gathering is held on the eve of the annual Sacred Defense Week ceremonies which marks the sacrifices of the nation during the eight years of imposed war by the then Iraqi army.

He said war veterans are the living documents proving the dignity of the Iranian nation.

He said the whole nation certainly benefits from the sacrifices the war venterans made and keeps learning lessons from them as role models.

The President said that the disabled war veterans mirror both the sacrifices of the Iranian nation and the brutality of the aggressors.
