TEHRAN (ISNA)- A member of Iranian nuclear negotiating team said that arrangements for Amano’s ceremonial visit to Parchin military site showed that allegations raised against Iran have been fabricated.
“Arrangements for Amano’s ceremonial and public visit to Parchin site once again showed that our political and security organizations working professionally and meticulously can prove to the agency that allegations against our country are baseless,” Hamid Baiedi-Nejad said.
He further said that the roadmap between Iran and the the IAEA to settle the alleged studies is signaling a development in between Iran-IAEA ties and a shift of approach by P5+1 to Iranian nuclear issue.
The roadmap seeks ending alleged studies against Iran in return for certain steps taken by Iran, he added.
He noted that Iran has managed to give sufficient answers to the IAEA questions and ambiguities under the roadmap over last two months, expressing the hope that the case would end in the next two months.
Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano has visited the Parchin military site in Iran as a formality arranged during his brief stay in the country.
The spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said that Amano on Sunday paid a visit to the military site.
“In this tour, Yukiya Amano visited some of the workshop locations at the compound that have been the subject of unfounded allegations, especially the process of the repair and reconstruction of the access road to the Mamlou Dam near Parchin, which has gone down in a landslide due to recent rainfall,” Behrouz Kamalvandi said.
Iran has repeatedly denied Western allegations about secret nuclear activity at the site.
