TEHRAN (Tasnim) � Iranian and Bangladeshi foreign ministers discussed plans for holding joint commission meetings to enhance bilateral relations.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met his Bangladeshi counterpart A. H. Mahmood Ali in Dhaka on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the two senior diplomats emphasized the necessity for holding meetings of the Iran-Bangladesh joint commission.

The also highlighted the significance of mutual cooperation in the international circles, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

Zarif also noted that Tehran and Dhaka can promote ties in the economic fields.

�Good grounds will be provided for the expansion of bilateral ties following the removal of illegal and cruel sanctions against Iran,� Zarif noted, making a reference to the termination of anti-Iran sanctions under a nuclear deal with major world powers.

The top Iranian diplomat arrived in Bangladesh on Wednesday after a two-day visit to China.

His Asian tour comes against a backdrop of finalization of the text of a comprehensive nuclear deal between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), reached on July 14, will terminate all nuclear�related sanctions imposed on Tehran after coming into force.
