Iran, Lithuania confer on trade ties, petchem cooperation

TEHRAN Sept. 16 (Shana) Iran and Lithuania have the potentials to increase their commerce including cooperation in the field of petrochemical industry, chairman of Tehrans Commerce Chamber said.

Commerce chambers are the most trusted channels of communication which Iran and Lithuania can employ to boost their trade ties, Masoud Khansari told the visiting CEO of Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce Rimantas Sidlauskas.

Lithuania and Iran can be trade partners, he added, as there are fertile grounds for cooperation including in the petrochemical industry.

Sidlauskas welcomed new opportunities of bilateral trade with Iran in the wake of lifting of the sanctions.

He said an Iranian company which has signed agreement with Lithuania is scheduled to meet the prime minister which is expected to encourage bilateral trade.

Western companies are frequently travelling to Iran. As an EU member, Lithuania is interested in expansion of cooperation with Iran, said the Lithuanian businessman.
