Beijing, Sept 14, IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif on Monday hoped that China will continue with its constructive role in implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Speaking to reporters upon arrival in Beijing, China, Zarif said as an active and influential member of the G5+1, China always played a constructive role in the nuclear talks and the role is hoped to be continued in stage of the JCPOA implementation either.
He emphasized that Iran and China enjoy very extensive relations in political and economic domains as well as regional and international relations. Tehran is ready to expand its relations with Beijing in all areas.
Zarif said Iran and China share common concern on a number of subjects, including extremism, sectarianism, terrorism, regional problems, crisis in Afghanistan, Yemen and Syria. So, talks need to be held with the Chinese party on the issues, he added.
As for good and extensive economic relations, Zarif said the ties are ever growing with respect to good decisions made by leaders of the two countries.
Zarif, leading a delegation, arrived in Beijing Monday night to confer with Chinas high ranking officials on issues of mutual interests along with regional and global developments.
This is the first visit of the head of Iran's diplomacy to China after the nuclear deal with G5+1.
Upon his arrival, Zarif was welcomed with the officials at the Chinese foreign ministry and Iran's Ambassador to Beining Ali Asqar Khani.
The first leg of Zarif tour took him to Iraq, Pakistan, Kuwait, Qatar, Lebanon and Syria.
Zarif is to confer with his Chinese counterpart on Tuesday and will attend a press conference afterwards.
