TEHRAN (ISNA)- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) would meet on September 13 in Jeddah to discuss Syrian refugees situation, said an Iranian Foreign Ministry official.
The OIC conference will be held in Jeddah on September 13 to investigate displaced Syrians, said Head of Middle Eastern Department of Iranian Foreign Ministry Hamid-Reza Dehghani.
He also slammed Islamic states which refused to take refuge to displaced Syrians, adding that They have failed to do well about this issue.
He said that some OIC members close to Syria geographically should have dealt better with the displaced Syrians and therefore, they had not been made to pass long borders to reach a safe place.
The displaced people are seeking a secure place and the number of secure places in the Middle East is decreasing.
He further reiterated that the OIC can play an important role in defending displaced Syrians and immigrants.
