Czech FM highlights Irans role in region

TEHRAN (Tasnim) Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek, who is in Tehran on an official visit, said that peace would not be restored to the Middle East without taking Tehrans role into account.

If we do not cooperate with Iran, the Middle East would remain a turbulent region, Zaoralek said in a joint press conference with Irans Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Sunday, highlighting the significance of the international communitys relations with Iran.

He further pointed to the nuclear deal recently reached between Tehran and world powers, saying that Prague welcomes the nuclear agreement since it makes a great contribution to the expansion of Irans ties with other countries.

The success of this deal can lead to increased security in the Middle East and even in European countries, Zaoralek went on to say.

He also touched upon the economic ties between the two countries after the nuclear deal takes effect, saying the Czech Republic can help renovate different sectors of the Iranian economy.

The value of trade exchanges between the two sides is almost zero and does not at all correspond with the existing potentials, Zaoralek stated, adding that Tehran and Prague can cooperate in economic, political, cultural, and educational fields.

The European foreign ministers visit to Tehran at the head of a trade delegation and the renewed interest in restoring ties with Iran come after Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehrans nuclear program.

The comprehensive nuclear deal between Iran and the six powers would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran after coming into force.
