Tehran, Sept 1, IRNA Chairman of the Assembly of Experts Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi on Tuesday praised the nuclear negotiating team for their efforts in defense of Iran's rights in talks with world powers.
Speaking at the 18th meeting of Assembly of Experts, he said that the Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action (JCPOA) is under discussion in Majlis (parliament).
The official called the nuclear talks with world powers unprecedented in the history of diplomacy.
Supreme National Security Council as well as the Majlis should investigate the JCPOA and take the legal decision finally, he added.
The 18th meeting of Assembly of Experts started its deliberations here on Tuesday.
The meeting would continue until Wednesday evening.
Members of Iran's Assembly of Experts are slated to meet Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The Assembly of Experts (also Assembly of Experts of the Leadership) of Iran, is a deliberative body of Mujtahids (Islamic theologians) that is charged with electing and removing the Supreme Leader of Iran and supervising his activities.
Members of the assembly are elected from lists of candidates by direct public vote for eight-year terms. The number of members has ranged from 82 elected in 1982 to 88 elected in 2006. Current laws require the assembly to meet for at least two days every six months. The current chairman of the Assembly is Mohammad Yazdi, being elected on 10 March 2015.
