Injured Iranian TV reporter back home from Syria for treatment
n Iranian television reporter, who had been critically injured in a mortar attack in Syria, has been transferred to Iran for treatment.

Mohammad-Hassan Hosseini, a field correspondent of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), was transferred to Tehran from Damascus late Sunday.

Hosseini was critically wounded in a mortar attack by militants in Syria'swestern city of Latakia on August 24.

A number of correspondents affiliated to Iranian news serviceshave, in the past, fallen victim to the conflict in Syria, among them Press TV correspondent Maya Naser, who was killed in September 2012 after militants attacked Press TV staff in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

Meanwhile, the Damascus bureau chief of Iran's English-language Press TV and Arabic-language al-Alam news channels, Hossein Mortada, also sufferedspinal and pelvis injury in an attack by foreign-backed militants in the city of Dara'a on August 24.

Back in September 2012, Mortada had sustained injuries during an attack by militants in the Syrian capital.

He was shot in the back and wounded by sniper fire as he was covering twin blasts in Damascus and the ensuing fighting in the city.

Syria has been plagued by a foreign-backed militancy, which has killed more than 240,000 people since March 2011.
