Iran�s President Hassan Rouhani has received British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond in Tehran.

The British foreign secretary arrived in the Iranian capital on Sunday and reopened the UK embassy in Tehran in a sign of�improvement of ties between the two countries.

Hammond's trip is the first visit to Iran by a British foreign secretary since 2003.

The top British diplomat held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and attended a joint press conference on Sunday.
