Diplomat: Talks on reopening Iranian, British embassies underway

London, August 19, IRNA Iranian Charge d'Affaires to Britain said on Wednesday that negotiations on reopening Iranian Embassy in London and the British Embassy in Tehran are underway and that full diplomatic relations will be restored.

Mohammad-Hossein Habibollahzadeh, the non-resident Iranian charge d'affaires made the remarks in an interview with the editor-in-chief and reporters of the London-based daily, Independent.

He said that despite certain difficulties, the two countries' consultations in the course of the past 18 months have continued successfully on resolving bilateral disputes and help resolve the regional crisis, and that parliamentary delegations have been exchanged as well.

He said that the consular section of the Iranian Embassy in London is now active, offering services to the Iranian expatriates.
He referred to the positive impacts of the nuclear deal struck in Vienna on July 14, saying that political and economic delegations visited Iran from several European countries afterwards.

Habibillahzadeh also praised Iran's proactive regional and international diplomacy, expressing hope that very soon Tehran will be witness to visits of heads of state and economic activists from the European Union.
