DAMASCUS (Sputnik) � Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Zarif will visit Damascus early next week to discuss Tehran�s new initiative for settling the conflict in Syria, Syrian national television announced Monday.

According to the broadcast, Zarif will hold talks with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem.

Last week, Tehran announced it would submit to the UN a four-point plan on how to end the civil war in Syria. No further details were provided by Iran�s Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, who announced the plan.
