Tehran, Aug 9, IRNA - Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati on Sunday explained about activities of British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in Iran.
Speaking to reporters, he said the ministry has not given a letter of permission to BBC to establish office in Tehran, said the minister.
Other news agencies receive permission letter for a specific period of time without any problems, he said.
A special committee comprising representatives of ministry of culture and Islamic guidance, foreign ministry and ministry of intelligence is responsible for monitoring the activities of newspersons in Iran, he said.
These newspersons should receive a special type of visa which is not for 'tourists' and they can stay here for three to ten days, Jannati said.
