Tehran, Aug 6. IRNA � Majlis (Iranian parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani underlined that Syria is in the frontline of resistance against the arrogant powers.

Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem in Tehran on Wednesday.

�Syria has been subject to all-out attacks because it has been in the frontline of resistance against the arrogant and Zionist policies in recent years; the Syrian people have conducted difficult battle against the terrorism and extremism in recent years,� Larijani said.

He pointed to friendly relations between Tehran and Damascus, and said, �Iran and Syria as two friendly and brother countries have experienced stable relations over past years which is rooted in their numerous commonalities.

Moallem, for his part, briefed Larijani on the latest developments in Syria with regard to fight against Takfiri terrorists, �Some regional countries are plotting to topple the Syrian government through different means and they are trying to disintegrate the country with the help of Takfiri terrorists.
