Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi handed Five-thousand Years of Iranian Engineering as a gift to French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, who visited Iran last week.

The book features scientific studies into the history of engineering in Iran and covers a wide range of structures including qanats, windmills, and educational facilities.
The transport minister, who is a member of the Association of Engineers, has written the foreword to the book.
