TEHRAN (Tasnim) Iran's minister of economic affairs and finance announced that an international conference on investment in Iran will be held in Vienna later this week, which would provide an opportunity for European investors to actively work in Iran's lucrative market.
Speaking in the annual ministerial meeting of the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) in the Austrian capital, Ali Tayebnia said given the new atmosphere created after the successful conclusion of talks with six world powers over Tehran's peaceful nuclear program, European investors and traders are willing to develop their activities in Iran.
"A conference on investment and trade in Iran will be held in Vienna concurrent with the OFID ministerial meeting," he said.
Tayyebnia added that the gathering due to be held on Thursday and Friday would help introduce the existing investment opportunities in the Islamic Republic to European investors.
The annual session of the OFID has been attended by the economy and finance ministers of the member states of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
The OFID is an intergovernmental development finance institution established in 1976 by the OPEC member states.
OFID's objective is to promote cooperation between OPEC member countries and other developing countries as an expression of South-South solidarity.
