Jail, fine for gazelle poacher
A poacher who had killed 11 gazelles in Kashan, Isfahan Province, has been sentenced to three years in prison and fined 220 million rials ($6,666), said the head of Kashans Department of Environment, Mahmoud Qahremani. The fine is for causing damage to the wildlife and hunting without a legal permit.

The prison sentence was issued as a punishment for criminal action, IRNA reported. The unnamed poacher hunted the animals in various places, including the Qamsar Protected Area in southwestern Kashan.

Qamsar is home to several wildlife species, including ram, ewe, capra, goat, cheetahs, wild cats, Pallass cat, hyenas, wolves, foxes. It also boasts many birds such as gray partridge, quail, black-bellied sandgrouse, steppe eagle and Levant sparrowhawk.
